Established in November 1960, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has evolved from its original identity as the Federation of Malaya Motor Traders Association (FMMTA) to become a comprehensive organization representing both trade and manufacturing aspects of the automotive industry.
The transformation occurred in 2000 when MAA was formed through the merger of FMMTA and the Malaysian Motor Vehicles Assemblers Association (MMVAA). Initially focused on issues related to the import and distribution of motor vehicles, MAA has grown into a pivotal entity with an expanded role.
With a mission to be the leading and professional organization for all stakeholders in the Malaysian automotive industry, MAA is dedicated to encouraging, promoting, and protecting the industry’s interests. It vigilantly monitors proposed legislation and disseminates crucial information to its members, serving as a vital communication medium for the furtherance of mutual interests among its Ordinary Members. MAA’s dynamic journey reflects its commitment to the automotive landscape in Malaysia.
